At Impact Centre For Training, we recognise that skills will continuously improve and so we have developed a series of courses that go hand in hand. This course is the next step from our “introduction to through-hole soldering” and gives you the opportunity to perform advanced hand soldering exercises. This will include hand forming of components using specialised measuring tools, cutting leads to the correct size before soldering and also soldering the components to varied board finishes.
Following on from our introduction course, this advanced course is perfect for all those with basic knowledge and experience of hand soldering. Here we develop techniques essential for quality solder joints and learn to recognise finishes using industry recognised standards to apply and inspect.
Inspection is a very important part of this 2-day course and is combined with some rework techniques which enable us to better understand faults as they occur.
Subjects covered will include advanced hand soldering skills with a range of basic to intricate components, understanding equipment and technology, various alloys and fluxes, ESD procedures and reworking procedures using various methods.
